Fashion Incubator - new opportunities and challenges in Vietnam
Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies of the South-East Asian countries. Acquisition of WTO membership since 2007 has boosted up the growth prospects for its textile and apparel industry. Vietnam’s textiles industry continues to develop and its position in the global market is recognised, currently; Vietnam is stated as one of ten largest exporters of textiles and garments in the world .Yet the industry must face tough challenges to satisfy the expectation of Vietnam becoming one of the five largest exporters of textiles and garments in the world in the 2015-2020 period.
This research provides a clear view of Vietnam textile and garment industry development then focus on analysing opportunities and challenges of Fashion industry. Some suggested solutions including combining incubation activities in fashion industry have also been recommended. And TOPICA Fashion Incubator Program, an interference of an active incubator- TOPICA Accelerator and a leading model industry- ELITE Vietnam, is analysed as an early bird of this trend.
